Victim reportedly killed with machete
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND - Two people wanted for a San Antonio murder were arrested camping on South Padre Island.
Thomas Ahren and Kristi Tebo are accused of killing a 23-year-old man with a machete. They're being held without bond.
Investigators say the two went on a shopping spree with the victim's credit card. We're told the items they bought helped officers catch the couple.
The show "America's Most Wanted" aired video of the pair buying a tent, a machete and other camping gear. We're told the suspects hitchhiked to the Valley and set up their tent near the jetties on the island.
Local law enforcement noticed the pair and pointed them out to federal authorities. Investigators say they were able to track the couple and set up surveillance.
A third suspect was taken into custody in the Corpus Christi area
