Campground

Country Place RV Park is tucked away in the piney woods just outside of Conroe, in the small town of Cut N Shoot, Texas. It is a beautifully manicured forty acre park with large spacious RV sites nestled among the pines and oak trees. Family owned and operated. Country Place offers a quiet, delightful country setting for your next family, group or rally outing. For the fisherman there are three fishing ponds stocked with bass, catfish and perch. The largest pond has a covered lighted pier for your evening enjoyment. Country Place offers lots of wildlife to enjoy. From morning to night the nature enthusiasts can enjoy watching the Owls, Woodpeckers and Squirrels along with numerous varieties of birds that reside at the park. We also have resident ducks that will help you eat your bread goodies. We offer full hook-ups with 20/30/50amp services, plus oversized sites, long pull-thru sites. Sites include patios with picnic tables and campfire grills or bar-b-que grills. Other amenities in the park include propane station, laundry facilities, and restrooms with showers, swimming pool, game room, exercise room, horseshoe pits, fishing, and security lighting.

General Info

Tent camping is covered by your rego for Friday and Saturday nights. If you choose to stay over Sunday night, then you will be charged $6.00 for the extra night. If you bring any type of camping vehicle such as an RV, pop-up camper, etc. then you will be assessed a fee of $12.00 per night. There are approximately 40 parking slots for the RVs and pop-up campers. Please let us know before April 1 if you are going to bring an RV so we can tell the campground managers and get you all the pricing for the electric, water, etc. The slots will be filled on a first come first served basis.

There will be NO cabins available to rent at the campsite. The hotels in the area are north and south of Conroe on I-45, but the closest hotel to the campground is approximately 12 miles away.

The campground is split into two parts, North and South. All tent camping will be on the South side of the campground. The North side of the campground will be for the RVs and pop-up campers. The entrance road is the Mason-Dixon Line so to speak. We will have signs up and folks directing traffic to help you get to the proper camping spot.

Spring time in Texas brings out the poison ivy. With all of the rain we have had so far this winter, there should be a bumper crop of the stuff. Bring your favorite remedy to stop outbreaks and/or relieve the itch. Some of the products that work well in this area are Tecnu, Zanfel and AllStop.

Bring bug spray, preferably something with DEET in it. The piney woods can be home to horseflies, mosquitoes and ticks. And it is true, everything is bigger in Texas. We really haven't had a hard freeze to hold down the insect population, so please come prepared.

Updated Info

The campsite looks great and we pretty much have the run of the place. There is going to plenty of room for all of us and the territory we are going to hash in is very shiggilicous. The pool will be open and there are a number of newly built fire pits throughout the campground. There are some things we all have to be mindful of and are as follows:

There is a great deal of dead leaves and pine needles all over the campsite. We have been asked by the campground managers for the smokers to be very careful with their cigarette butts. There are plenty of camp grills and fire pits to dispose of your butts. It would be a shame to end the fun because of a ground fire racing through the campsite. Please be considerate and dispose of your butts properly.

The number of people attending the interhash and the proximity of cattle ranches on two sides of the property has prompted the campground managers to ask that we leave our pets at home. The ranchers are concerned about dogs running loose and barking, spooking the cattle. The ranchers have been gracious enough to allow us access to run trail through their property.

There will be areas very clearly marked as off limits. There are utility lines (water, electric, gas) near the surface and we wouldn't want any accidents involving the rupture of one of these lines. There are also some permanent residents at the campsite and traffic patterns (vehicle and foot) will be diverted from these structures. This campground is great and we would like to use this place for future hash campouts.
